More Loose Packs for the Break Plus Another Documentary Team

 R.I.P Duke Snider

Hey all. The break continues today with a couple dozen more loose packs along with some bonus packs thrown in and I will also reveal another Documentary team at the end of the post.

A nice variety along with several inserts, parallels, a gold sn'd /2008, a couple of SP's and an auto. On to another of the Documentary teams.

White Sox

The White Sox didn't have a ton of luck from this box as they only scored 7 base cards. At least they are 7 different pictures.

That's all I have for now. Keep rockin your cardboard dreams!

More 2008 UD Documentary Teams Revealed for the Break.

Hey all. Not a lot of time today so I have some more of the Documentary teams to show you.

Twins

A nice Morneau insert from when he won the 08 Home Run Derby

Cardinals

All base with a couple of Pujols for the RedBirds.

Rangers

Hamilton checks in with an insert.

Orioles

The O's score 13 base cards. While 4 of them double up pictures none are duplicates.

That makes 23 teams from the Documentary box revealed so there are 7 teams left to show. If you have the Cubs, Dodgers, Nationals, White Sox,  Rockies, Reds, and Rays left in the running for the auto. Naturally I didn't list them in any specific order as to not spoil the surprise.

That's all for today. Keep rockin those cardboard dreams!

And Now A Word From Our Sponsor!

Hello all. Time for a break from our regularly scheduled programing for a word from BA Benny's Baseball Card Buffet's new sponsor. Build ASign has struck a deal with us here at the Buffet and I am proud to welcome them aboard. In as brief a description as possible, they make signs, all kinds of signs. Here's a list of some of their products:
Custom Banners
Magnetic Signs
Accessories
Art Prints
Bumper Stickers
Car Wraps
Flags
Jumbo Cards
License Plates
Neon Signs
Parking Signs
Plywood Signs
Political Signs
Real Estate Signs
Retail Displays
Safety Signs
Sandwich Boards
Street Signs
Vinyl Decals
Vinyl Lettering
Wall Decals
Window Clings

When Megan from Build ASign contacted me about a possible sponsorship, she couldn't have been nicer and more helpful and we decided on three products for her to send me to show off and review. First up some bumper stickers.

Here is a loose bumper sticker before application to one of my card binders. Notice the white border. That is actually the backing paper cut larger then the sticker for easy removal. These are made of a vinyl material and feels pretty strong.

Here it is applied to one of my Mets game used binders. I pulled a couple of cards out to show a size comparison (I had get some cards in somewhere). I created the design on their website which is very user friendly and even uploaded the image in the bottom right corner. It's an abstract picture of a pack of cards and some loose cards and it transferred to the sticker exactly as it appeared in the proof. The upload process is really simple too.

The next item is a licence plate. This design was done on the site as well and their selection of fonts and clip art is very good.
This is two plates so you can see the back and front. They are made from a good gauge aluminum and the image appears to be a plastic/rubbery type of material that seems to be layered onto the aluminum and not just painted. The picture shows a texture like finish and that is how it feels.

Finally I was given a 5 x 3 vinyl banner for my card/media room and it looks great. The same design from the license plate was used and it blew up fantastic.

It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks real sharp. It's a fairly heavy vinyl stock and the corner grommets feel pretty strong.

All in all I am very happy with the stuff Megan sent me and highly recommend Build ASign for your sign needs. They do commercial and personal products from their templates or your own design. Check out their site, I have a link on the side bar and the top of this post.

Now is your chance to score some of the swag provided to me for this review. I have a bunch of the bumper stickers to give away so if anybody wants one, leave a comment and I also have three of the license plates to give away. If there is enough interest maybe we can do some sort of contest after the group break is done for those. Let me know in the comments. Don't be shy, this is you chance to get limited edition BA Benny's Baseball Card Buffet items. Every man cave/card room needs some Buffet swag. If your nice I may even autograph and serial number them for you.

Once again, thanks to Build ASign for the products and Megan for the help putting this together.

More Packs and More Packs Plus Some More Packs for the Break.

Hey all. Grab a couple of beers and have a seat because today's break installment consists of 4 videos of almost an hour of card fun from the 80's through 2010 with a bunch of rack packs and other fun.

Update: The Sisler will go to the Orioles as I was informed that the St. Louis Browns became the O's.

That's a whole lot of cards for you. A few people have hit the 100 card mark. The counts are updated so you can see where you stack up. Not to worry if you have the Rays, D-Backs, and Rockies, most of the stuff left includes them.

I hope you are all enjoying the break so far, If I had to guess I would say we have hit the half way point and still have some great stuff left. The hit count is up to 11 after the auto today and we should have at least 7 more from the two boxes left along with the UD Documentary that has yet to be revealed and who knows what the loose packs left will have. We have been very lucky so far so I hope we can keep it up.

On another note, I have received several trade packages since the break started and I will post all of them. Thanks to all who I have made these trades with and I will give you the credit you deserve when I finish the break.

That's all I have for today. Keep rockin your cardboard dreams!

Loose Packs = Scores!! The Break Moves Along Plus More Documentary Teams.

Hello all, I have some more loose packs for today's group break installment. I think it was a good day but you be the judge.

I am very happy to see multiple hits come out. It's ironic that the pack that assured the hit had a long expired redemption but I am happy to throw in a T-96 auto I have from a Pack Rip Cafe post. I may have said that it would go to the A's but it's only fair to random it off among all the teams (except mine). I apologize to Scott for saying it would go to the A's but I want to be fair to all. I am real happy with the Beltran hit but I have to say the Adam Jones bat is a great looking card. I think every team got at least one card out of this round if I remember correctly. The count page is updated. Let's see a few more of the Documentary teams.

Royals

An All Star insert looks good.

Mariners

Three gold parallels go to the M's.

Pirates

The pirates made out pretty good with five golds.

All in all a good day for some great cards. That's all I have for now so keep rockin those cardboard dreams!

A Blaster, Some Loose Packs, 3 Bonus Packs, and a Documentary Team as the Break Continues.

Hey all. The break continues along with the last blaster (2008 UD Series 1 and 2 Combo), some more loose packs (plus three bonus packs), and 1 more Documentary team is eliminated from the competition for the auto hit.

2008 Upper Deck Blaster

Loose Packs 2/22/11

No hits today but some nice inserts. The count page is updated so check it out.

2008 UD Documentary
Astros

Sorry Sam (The Dimwit), no auto for you from this box. That should leave 14 teams left in the running, any guesses who will get the hit.

In other news, I received some promotional goodies from my newest sponsor in the mail today and will be doing a review soon and you will have your chance at getting some Baseball Card Buffet swag of your very own. Check out the Build ASign link on my side bar and stay tuned for a review of three of their products coming up soon.

That's all I have for today. Keep rockin those cardboard dreams people.

Four More Documentary Teams

Hey all. Short on time today so for the break I have four more teams from the Documentary box for you.

Tigers

An All Star Game insert for the Tigers.

Diamond Backs

All base for the D-Backs

Braves

A McCann All Star insert looks good.

Giants

The Giants score five of the gold parallels.

That puts us half way with 15 teams left so if you haven't seen your team yet you are still alive for the auto hit.

I hope to be back with a video tomorrow with some more loose packs and we still have 2 other boxes left.

Thanks for Reading!

What a Finish in the 500 and More Teams Eliminated for the Documentary Auto Hit.

Hey all. Just finished watching the Daytona 500 and what a finish. When my favorite drivers ended up out of the running (Waltrip and Burton) I was glad to see the Wood brothers get their #21 into victory lane after ten years with a kid who just turned 20 yesterday. For those who don't know, the Woods were extremely influential in many of the modern engineering marvels in today's Nascar and were one of the greatest teams in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. They have had legendary drivers win for them back in the day and have given some of the biggest drivers in the sport there first rides.

David Pierson

Cale Yarborough

Michael Waltrip

Today's Winner

Now on to three more teams from the 2008 Documentary box.

Blue Jays

Toronto shows the first insert which is from the 2008 All Star game.

Indians

Another example of the same picture on different cards.

Phillies

The Phillies are one of the lucky teams to get some gold parallels.

Three more teams out of the running for the auto but some good cards for them. The count page is updated but I will not include the Documentary for now since they all haven't been shown.

That's all I have for now. Keep rockin those cardboard dreams people.

Loose Packs Continue the Group Break Plus the Beginning of the Documentary Box

Hey all. The break continues today with a bunch of loose packs and then the beginning of the Upper Deck Documentary box.  First the loose packs. I have 2 videos, one baseball and one football with a couple of baseball. There was supposed to be a third video with more baseball in the middle but I somehow deleted it by mistake after all the cards were sorted and added to their respective team stacks so I can't even retake the video. I apologize for that but I will say the missing video was the least exciting of the three so the best cards from today will be seen and I do have pictures of any real special cards after the videos.

There you have it. A couple of surprise hits on the football side. Here are the best from the lot.

Now I said earlier that I had the beginning of the 2008 Upper Deck Documentary box. I started to video that box and quite frankly, it was quite boring so what I have decided to do was open and sort all the box and I will show off a few teams each post so you can see all the cards from each team without having to watch a long and boring video. I also will not show the team that got the auto hit until last so you really do not want to see your team until last. I will tell you that none of my teams (Mets, Yankees, Marlins, Angels, or Brewers) got the auto so I won't bother showing those teams.

Here are the first 3 teams, you can click on the pictures to get a bigger view.

Red Sox

  A's

Padres

As you can see, the Padres are the only one of these first three teams to get any of the gold parallels with the "2008' on them. The way they put this box together, only a few (4 or 5 I think) teams got any of the gold parallels. Also you may notice that the Red Sox appear to have gotten 2 of the same cards but upon closer review they are from 2 different games and are 2 different card numbers so it's just a case of them using the same picture on different cards. I don't believe there were any duplicates in this box but there will be more examples of them using the same picture on different cards as we move along.

Once again I apologize for the video mess up on my part.

That's all I have for now. Keep rockin those cardboard dreams people!
